As a mortgage broker and mom, my weeks are full—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But to keep everything running smoothly, I’ve learned the power of planning and setting myself up for success. That’s why Sunday is my reset day. It’s a blend of structure, intention, and time with the people I love most.
Here’s what a successful Sunday looks like for me:
1. Planning for the Week Ahead
Sunday is when I set the tone for the entire week. I start by mapping out meals and scheduling workouts—because when I prioritize my health, I’m better equipped to show up for my clients and family. I usually order groceries on Sunday for a Monday delivery. It’s a simple hack that saves me time, cuts down on stress, and helps me avoid navigating busy stores with kids in tow. I also get my home cleaned every other Friday so I can spend my weekends doing light chores like laundry and bedding but not have the entire weekend held up by my housework. In addtion to housework I also outsource hot lunches for my son's school. Natalie will have this next year but essentially we get 2-3 lunches made for my son and delivered through the school program. This is a fundraiser as well as a time saver for me. I print off his schedule and choices so he can wake up look at the fridge and understand what he is getting each day for lunch. This is a fun moment for him in the morning but also empowers him and includes him in the process too.

2. Time-Blocking and Goal Setting
Each week, I outline five main goals I want to accomplish by Friday. Then I time-block my schedule to support those goals. Some of the recurring items on my list include:
Email marketing creation
Canva content for social media
Underwriting and deal follow-ups
Marketing to my existing database
I also make space for regular coaching calls, client meetings, and team-building sessions with my fellow brokers. Planning ahead helps me stay proactive, not reactive. In addition to blocking for meetings I also block for "time to work" this allows me to make adhoc calls, catch up on files or paperwork. I can not do back to back calls 9-5 7 days a week I need time to actually work too so I make sure to schedule this into my plan. Another block? I put my drop off and pick up for my kids as well as their activities like skiing, dance, horseback riding and hockey. This allows my husband and I to have a clear plan and work together on the kids hobbies and sports while staying aligned and focused on a clear plan and activities. Not to mention Josh and I have sports and hobbies too!

3. Family and Home Reset
Even though our house gets a weekly deep clean, Sundays are perfect for small resets: organizing the kids' clothes for the week, prepping school lunches, clearing out the fridge, and baking snacks (we made muffins this week!). These tasks may seem small, but they make weekday mornings smoother and a lot less chaotic.
We also try to get outside—fresh air is good for everyone. Today, Natalie and I took our pup for a walk while Josh and Ronald hit the slopes. It’s those little moments that keep us grounded.
4. Inbox Control and Client Care
I like to spend an hour or so reviewing emails over the weekend. This helps me stay on top of anything time-sensitive, especially since real estate doesn’t pause for the weekend. This past weekend, three clients purchased homes and three others started the refinance process—so I know Monday will be full. Staying a step ahead helps me support everyone with confidence and clarity.

5. Making Room for What Matters
One of my non-negotiables? Wrapping up work by 2:30 PM each day so I can be fully present for my son after school. That means homework help, playtime, and simply being there. Creating boundaries around my workday starts with a well-planned Sunday.
Sundays may not be glamorous, but they are a key part of my success—both professionally and personally. They give me the clarity and calm I need to walk into Monday feeling confident and prepared.
